One of the most common questions we get here at Supreme Security Systems is in regards to price: “How much does a security system cost?” On the surface, this probably seems like a very easy question to answer, but there is actually a lot that goes into pricing out a full security system. We want to walk you through a few details about pricing that we think are crucial to consider. Take a look below to get some insight into pricing so you can invest in the best security system for you.
Customized Solutions Don’t Come with a Price Tag
The main reason we can’t list prices on our website or just provide you with an estimate on a quick phone call is that we create custom security solutions. These solutions are based on your specific property and take square footage, the number of doors and windows, street visibility, lifestyle and many other factors into account. We simply can’t be certain of price until we walk through your property and identify the security equipment that will deliver the best results.
So why were you able to get a price from that other security company? Some companies might be providing you with an accurate estimate without knowing anything about your property, but more times than not, we’ve seen that an estimate based on little information means one of two things:
- The security company is giving you a broad estimate that will likely change drastically after they see your property.
- The security company is selling you a premade package that was not built for your home or business.
The former can be incredibly frustrating. You take the time to reach out to a security company or fill out an online survey. In return, you might get an immediate estimate in your price range which sounds great, but after the company performs a walk-through, the price doubles. In the end, you feel like you’ve been tricked and your time has been wasted.
The latter is perhaps even worse. Unless the premade system fits your home or business perfectly (which is unlikely), you will either be missing equipment your property needs to be secure, or you will be sold equipment that you don’t require.
That’s why we strongly encourage our prospective customers to schedule walk-throughs with all of the companies they are considering. It may be inconvenient, but it is better to get a detailed quote then to commit to a company after only seeing an estimate (and having that estimate be wildly lower than the actual price).
Cheaper Does Not Mean Better
We are all trying to find the best deals possible on everything we buy, but security systems aren’t the item you want to go bargain hunting on. Many of our customers have come to us with questions about our competitors and off-the-shelf security solutions and we always tell them the same thing: if you want to find a cheaper security provider than Supreme, you certainly can. Our goal isn’t to be the cheapest option on the market; it is to be the best security provider possible.
What’s our point? When you’re comparing the prices of security systems or security providers, be sure that you’re also comparing quality. We at Supreme work with the best equipment available. We have a 24/7/365 Five-Diamond Monitoring Center (“five-diamond” is the highest rating a monitoring center can receive from The Monitoring Association). We are licensed in the state of NJ and our technicians go through intensive training. We can provide service for your system within days, maybe hours. And we have been serving the state of New Jersey since 1929. All of these things add up to an excellent security service for our customers.
Have No Regrets with Your Security System
The last thing to consider when thinking about the price of your security system is the value you place on your investment. You are purchasing a security system to increase the safety and security of your business or home, to protect your employees or family members, to ensure that the investments you’ve made in your private and professional life aren’t torn away. Much like insurance, a security system is a preventative measure that we hope is never needed at your home or business. We hope fifteen years from now you wonder why you ever purchased a security system since your alarm has never sounded. But more often than not, the opposite is true. More often than not, home and business owners wish they had invested in a system after it is already too late.
This isn’t us trying to use scare tactics. This is just the truth. We don’t often run into people who are upset about the price of a security system that has done its job. But we have run into many people who wish they would have invested in a better system or any system at all. So, when you are considering price, remember the importance of your investment.
